The thematic map of areas deputies as potential seismic sources generating tsunami phenomena has been deve-loped in collaboration with Prof. Stefano Tinti of the Physics Department - Geo-physics area - of the Bologna University and part of Inter-governement Coordination Group for the North-East Atlantic, the Mediterranean and Connected Sea Tsunami Warnig System (ICG NEAMTWS).

For this network the transmission equipment is redundant, it is used a transmission system based on UMTS technology with static IP and a satellite transmission system based on IRIDIUM technology. The IRIDIUM system is automatically activated after a break of more than 10 minutes of UMTS coverage allowing data transmission even in the presence of extreme events. A weekly test is performed on the satellite link.
